Sounds like a rap beat to me. Honestly though, it's not too shabby. I really like the melody you have, and the drums are pretty cool. At 1:30, where the bass drops, it's just not that good. The sound of the bass itself is what's boring. the melodies stay repetitive but cool, but your bass sounds are a little boring. At half way through the song, you begin to realize the song hasn't exactly progressed or anything.
Reading the description, I have to give you kudos.
Honestly, I thought the sound you use for the drop was a preset. Again, the melodies were cool, but maybe could have progressed more?
For a repetitive beat, which I think you meant it to be, it's really pretty catchy. I'm not the best judge of mixing, but it sounds pretty solid to me. =)
Nice track!

Jayk-O responds:

Thank you! Progression is not my strong spot in music.

Yusss, this is great! I love the melodies! The volume unbalance I think is exaggerated in headphones, so it's not that bad. I think the whole song was pretty catchy--the drums and melodies.
I definitely have some respect for this work. It's one of your best that I've heard

Typical chords. Cool intro sounds though! Yeah it's cool, but I almost expected a drop after that epic intro. I think the highs--the lead for instance--need more presence in the song. The song gets a little boring otherwise. I like the melody you chose, and the drums are pretty alright.
Overall, a good work!

Thank you so much! I'm a relative newcomer when it comes to electronic music and this was really my first try doing it, more comfortable with guitars and drums and the like, thank you!

What they say is true. The highs are definitely...there =P
I can't really blame you though, I mean--I'm totally strung out on treble if ya know what I mean. I seriously can't get enough of it! Well...at least until I heard this.
Good song, though. I loved the sub bass drops throughout, though maybe there could have been more of those fat frequencies throughout.

Nice, I like the arp in the intro. Not too spectacular, but cool.
Actually that's my assessment for a lot of this song. But that's what you get for using Nexus I guess :P
haha I like that sub kick you have. The volume is pretty low, and I don't have an amp here, so I feel like I'm missing the presence of the song. sounds like it'd be much better if it was thumping, because I think you relied pretty heavily on the bass.
Here's my main problem with the song. Everything is just a little too mainstream. I've heard it all before. The bassline at 4:00, the overall rhythm choice for your supersaws, and the chords.
I think you can use overused ideas like these in your song, but maybe just not all in ONE song.
My favorite parts were the intro and outro. Nice snare transitions you had going.

Thanks for the review. I was trying to be as mainstream as I could actually. And Im forced to use some synths like Nexus cause they are the only ones that work on Linux. Many other synths do not work. My whole goal is to be on a record label, making mainstream music, so for you, its -1 star. But for me, its a success.

Oh my...I appreciate your work in the rock break beat electronic style, but this...I just love your ambient tracks. The only thing is the rhythm was boring at first, but once it was joined by more instruments, it fit perfectly

But it's just a loop... :(
It's cool, and it seems like you may have even put some effort into tuning the kick. I didn't realize for a while that it even mattered.
It's a cool melody you have, but a pretty generic synth.
Not much else to it. Not bad

So...what is an industrial song? I'll guess it has something to do with the percussion.
Your drums stand out and are really cool! Some distortion at times...or is that just the industry?
I like this though. It's almost cinematic how you build on the parts with more and more arpeggiating. You never really have a melody or anything like that, and you bass gets a little repetitive--I would have a transition where the bass gets a solo, and then continues doing what it's doing. Otherwise you get the idea it's stuck in that pattern you put it in.
I'm not sure I would add a melody to this, because it's very engaging the way it is, but you might just consider it and see if anything comes up
Nice =)

Intro grabbed my attention.
I like the bass, and the harpsichordish sound or whatever it is. The subtle drum beat is pretty sweet. Ok so at 0:56, I think the atmosphere sounds sound out of key and a little to overpowering. Also that Kick drum at 1:00 sounds pretty loud to me. almost distorts at times.
I like the reverberating pluck melody you have going throughout the end of the song.
I really liked your drum rhythm, just not a fan of the booming kick drum.
Nice work!

Ethril responds:

I'll keep plugging at it. Thanks for the review!
7/1 I wasn't a fan of that big kick either.... I think I'll snatch that out of this song and make it a bit longer and more emotional. This was still a decent piece so I'll keep it up... I'll name the new one just
''Eclipse''

What a cool song! I think the idea is not fully developed maybe...but man is it still cool! The samples you used sound pretty good to me. I'm not sure if you did the stereo badly, for some reason I just wish there were more highs in my right ear, instead of having all the strings clustered on the left.
Well...the drum kit fixed that problem I guess...it's a little overpowering perhaps
Nice reverbed snare! and the kick too.
I personally think this deserves a little more credit than it gets. A very cool work.
